1. My reactions to Jefferson Street was great to see a lot of businesses on this street that were all owned by African Americans.
ReplyDelete2. What I like about Jefferson Street is you have plenty of things you can do on this street from getting food, going to the barber shops, and bookstores. And I also like the history Jefferson Street has.
3. What I like least about Jefferson Street that it is a really busy street to be on .
4. Some goods I would purchase from Jefferson Street would be books from the bookstore and do some shopping at Family Dollar.
5. I have not shopped yet but I did go and get my eye brows done and I really liked them a lot.

3. Althoug it may seem a little off, what I liked least about Jefferson Street are the narrow street lines.

1. My first reaction to the things on jefferson street is that many of the stores are to be at the convenience of the surrounding college students.

3. With all the traffic that flows up and down the street it is really narrow and sometimes traffic moves a little slow.

1.My reaction to Jefferson Street was kind of shocking because I really never realized how much history was on the street.

3.What I like least about Jefferson Street is the look of it. It looks kind of dirty and unsafe.
4.The services I am most likely to use is the restaraunts and familly dollar.The food is great and family dollar is a great place for low budget shopping.
5. Yes I have stopped and ordered a plate from Harpers and it was really good.
1. My reactions to Jefferson street is that many of these stores welcome and support college students of Tennessee State University with discounts and other necessities. I believe that a majority of students at Tennessee State are not aware of what Jefferson Street has to offer.

3. What I like least about Jefferson Street is its setting such as the streets and traffic. Jefferson Street just needs a bit of a makeover so it can attract more people. If Jefferson Street continues to look unsafe the businesses will not get in return what they give which is support.
4. I would most likely use family dollar, Nuttin But Wings and Knock Out Wings on Jefferson Street.

1. I never knew that there were so many businesses own Jefferson that were owned by African Americans. Another reaction I had was when the business owners were telling the history and how long they had been running!
ReplyDelete2. What I like best is that they welcome college students with open arms. If you need anything they let you know right then and there just ask for it. I like that it's not far from the school either!
3. What I least liked was that the area looks really bad. With the proposal Ms. Hurts is doing, I think that Jefferson street will get more business.

1. The street of Jefferson is a great street. I feel this street needs a little expansion to it. I feel that it needs to be more decorative. This street is very historical. Many African Americans owns stores on this street. Many of them have story to tell. They also support us college students.
ReplyDelete2. What I like about Jefferson is that they support us. They give us the time of day. They love to see college students, because the fact that we are doing something with our life. Otherwise, I like the stores and the food. Also the history that was told to us.
3. What I like least is the traffic. I feel that a little expansion of the street wouldn’t hurt. Our streets need to be a little wider. Also the way it looks. It looks as if someone can get in an accident or get hurt really bad. It’s very unsafe.
4. Don’t get me wrong, ill shop on Jefferson, there’s nothing wrong with that. I feel that Jefferson Street. Just need some type of catch to it, like an attraction.

1.I had never walked Jefferson Street and I was surprised about the history and how the street has changed over time.

1.My initial reaction to the touring of Jefferson St. was a mixture of pride and slight dissapointment. I'm disappointed because I would expect to see more of a safe and wealthy environment for the community around these businesses. I am proud because the business owners are positive role models and also great resources.
ReplyDelete2.What I liked best about the tour was that all of the stores and shops demographically targeted the college student, keeping in mind that most of us are finacially unstable.
3. What I liked least about the tour was seeing that the streets weren't that attractive, but as I mentioned above the sight of the area is a based on the amount of money within the community.

1. My initial reaction to Jefferson Street was yes I know this street has history, but it is gone. When I say gone, I mean that it is bad. It needs a lot of work done to it to make it a better street and neighborhood.
ReplyDelete2. The best part of Jefferson Street that I like is that people who own businesses understand that we are college students and they are willing to work with us money wise. Also they care about their community and are willing to work to fix it up and make it a better place (I learned this from going on the tour because I have never been anyplace on Jefferson Street besides College Cribs and the book store).
3. The thing that I like least about Jefferson Street is that it is not safe and there are not that many places to college students to go. What I mean is that there are no strip malls, or other fast food restaurants.
4. I highly doubt I would buy anything on Jefferson Street unless it was from College Cribs and the only time I go to College Cribs is when my mother is here and she is buying Greek things.
5. Yes I have shopped on Jefferson Street in the last week. I shopped at College Cribs on Saturday, before TSU's homecoming game, with my mother because she wanted to buy a Greek jacket.

1.My initial reactions to Jefferson Steet weren't very good because it seemed as if the neighbors had torn up the environment, but I was also pleased about the many black entreprenuers.

ReplyDelete1. My reaction to Jefferson Street was that i was really surprised by how many black owned businesses i saw..it was just amazing.
2.One of the many thngs i like best about Jefferson Street is how nice the people are. You can go into one of their businesses and they will treat you like your at home.
3.One thing that i do'nt like about Jefferson Street is the horrible traffic at times.
4.I would go to one of the food places and get a nice HOT cooked meal.
